![]() PS problems are about half of the common failure issues with dashcams so it's not worth doing a permanent install with a cheap PS. Cheap PS's often have a low output which can cause a more current-hungry cam to malfunction. What I have found through all this is that cheap PS's will probably fail before the cam does, so use good stuff instead (including cables). My 2.4A Anker 2-port ciggie-lighter adapter PS lost one side after 4+ years of the rough conditions it lived in (no complaint, it's good stuff). ![]() With most of my cheap cams the supplied PS dies several months or a year into the game- I have only one cheap PS that still works, two medium-grade PS's still work, and one top-grade PS works fine. I do not follow my own advice though, as the many cams in my workvan are being powered with more-or-less permanent PS's with me switching the cams around as I need to. For maintaining the warranty (and usually for reliability too) it's best to stay with supplied PS's and recommended SD cards.
